God’s Love Overflows From One Generation To The Next

God’s love overflows.  This much is clear.  God’s abundant love fills us.  Sometimes God’s love transforms our generosity.  Other times God’s love transforms our faith community because the love we receive from God is shared with others.

Two weeks ago several of our youth embarked on a twelve week journey of faith confirmation.  Under Mark Roscoe’s leadership, they will study and ask questions together, and grow together.  Hopefully they will wonder about the Church together while considering their faith and our faith in Christ Jesus.

Their confirmation journey is our journey.  Their challenges will be our challenges, their questions will be our questions, and their growth will be our growth. 

I invite you to lift up Mark and the confirmands in prayer.  Ask the holy and loving God to bless them with a fresh measure of wisdom, diligence, and joy as they re-discover the written word of Scripture and the Living Word of Christ.

During their confirmation journey, please encourage all of them.  When you see them, say “Great job, we are proud of you!”  Tell them, “We are praying that you will enjoy God’s great love!”

God’s love overflows from one generation to the next.  When we provide a confirmation experience for our youth God is using us to love them more and more.  May God bless our youth and enrich their lives with a vibrant faith and a renewed joy in the Spirit.
